The stadium boasts a massive seating capacity of over 50,000, by architect HOK Sport
of Kansas City, at a cost of $215 million. This was mainly public financing.
Located roughly 3 kilometers from Mile High Stadium with a good range of hotels near
Coors Field, it was the 1st new ground in the National League since Montreals Stade
Olympique opened it’s gates in 1977. It was the NL's first new park designed and
constructed only for baseball since Dodger Stadium back in 1962.
The stadium combines the comforts of a modern stadium with the atmosphere of the
old-time ballparks. It is constructed with hand-laid brick and has an old-fashioned
famous old clock tower above its main entrance. The deepest part of the park is 424
feet in right-center field. The two bullpens rest beside each other next to the scoreboard
in right center and are raised. The natural field of grass can drain 5 inches of
water per hour, and there is a underground heating system that melts snow and it
touches the ground and prevents freezing.
Concession stands in the concourse are set out so that fans can wonder the full 360
degrees around the stadium and keep a close eye on the game in hand. The image below
shows the Coors Field seating chart, so book the right row for your day out.
